Hard disk of our computer is not only the storage house of our precious data but it also contains operating system which is responsible for successful communication between computer’s hardware and software. We can say that any damage to hard disk of our computer can create devastating situation of data loss. There could be various reasons of data loss from hard disk of computer but with the availability of hard drive data recovery software and services, it is possible to recover our precious data. In order to select an appropriate solution to recover hard drive data, it is advisable to understand the cause for data loss from hard drive.

Mentioned below are common causes of data loss from hard drive of your computer:

1. Logical Reasons: This category generally incorporates logical errors which we encounter due to operating system corruption, file system damage, and other software related issues.

2. Accidental Deletion: Most of us deny admitting it but accidental deletion of data/files is one of the prominent reasons of losing them. Due to various human errors like emptying the trash, deletion of an important file with some unused files permanently from system, and mistakenly deleting a file while trying to save it are some examples of accidental deletion.

3. Malicious Software and Computer Viruses: It is again an important cause that leads to data loss. Computer viruses and malicious software are designed to delete your files, disk partitions, and sometimes corrupt the operating system.

4. Unexpected Formatting: Unwanted formatting of hard drive without taking proper backup leads to data loss.

5. Physical Damage: Since, hard drive is made up of various sensitive components and thus any physical damage like drops, bumps, and other haphazard ways of handling may damage hard drive/hard drive components physically.

The last reason that is physical damage on the hard disk needs hard disk data recovery service to overcome data loss however other four data loss reasons can easily be overcome with the help of third-party hard disk data recovery software. The point to be notices here is rectifying physical damage of the hard disk by oneself is not recommended as we know hard disk is made up of sensitive components and exposing it in normal room environment can further damage it. Therefore, in case of physical damage you have to contact hard drive data recovery service provider immediately.

However, you can use hard disk data recovery software by yourself. One of the awards winning data recovery software is Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery. The software has simple intuitive user interface by which you can recover lost, deleted, inaccessible, or formatted data without needing any assistance of an expert or prior training of the software.

A database server is an integral part of any dynamic website. Hosting the database in the cloud speeds up applications, making it convenient for small or medium sized businesses to protect and back up the data.

For new businesses, the IT manager or software developer must make a new database on the SQL Server to get started with the business website. Microsoft includes SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) with the database engine, so the IT manager and software developers can connect to the cloud database server from anywhere in the world and create a new database.

Connect to the SQL Server

SSMS shows a login window before accessing the SQL Server engine. The cloud hosting company provides the business with the username and password and the IP address for the SQL Server. Type these three elements in the login window to connect to the server.

On the left side of the screen is a list of database components for the SQL Server. The center panel is where the SQL code is entered. For people new to SQL Server, no SQL code is needed to create a new database. Microsoft SQL Server has a wizard that walks the user through the setup process.

Create a New SQL User

For security purposes, each database should have its own user. Right-click the “Security” section in the left panel and select “New,” then “User.” In the opened configuration window, type a new user name and select “SQL Server Authentication.” Type a password for the user. SQL Server authentication means the user must have a separate SQL Server account to log in to the system. Therefore, if the Windows network is hacked, the SQL Server is still locked down because the secondary user name and password becomes required to access and edit the data.

Create a New SQL Server Database

After the user is created, a database can be created and linked to the new user. Right-click the “Databases” icon in the left panel and select “New Database.” A wizard window opens with several default settings configured. For new users, these default settings are sufficient for both security and storage.

Type the database name in the first text box. The database name can be any alphanumeric value. If the cloud host has given the business a partitioned log file drive, change this value for in the drive options for the log files. Log files are used to roll back changes to the database or keep track of changes made to the database. For this reason, the log files can grow to gigabytes of data and plenty of hard drive space should be made available for them for storage.

Link the New User to the New Database

After the database is created, the user must be given permissions to the database or the user receives an “Access Denied” message. Go back to the security section and right-click the user name. Click “Properties” to view user permissions. In the list of databases, check the new database name to link the user to the database permissions. Check off “db_owner” to give the user rights to all sections of the database. These permissions can change in the future, but it helps to give the user full access during development of the website.

Creating a new cloud database environment in SQL Server is simplified with the SSMS wizard. Even users with no database experience can create a new database on the cloud host. The great advantage for new businesses is that after all the database properties are set up, the backup and security is handled by the cloud host so the business can focus on making sales instead of IT work.

You can defend Apple as much as you want, you can sell your iPhone 4S for something new, or hate on all the Fandroids out there. One thing is for sure, if there’s one thing bad about Apple, it’s their earphones.

They come with the iPod and the iPhone. These white earphones, iconic as they are, actually sound bad. While they get the job done, crank them up to higher levels, you’ll get distortion so bad it makes amateur punk rock bands sound good.

Not only that, the equalization is bad. Treble is high, and bass frequencies are weak. It’s as if you’re listening through a tin can.

Now, we’re not saying that you should be an audiophile, but since you’ve invested in an Apple device that plays music, you should do your favorite songs some justice by purchasing solid earphones. In fact, you’ll realize that the iPhone is actually a good music player, depending on the earphones you buy. Maybe you won’t have to sell your iPhone 4S after all. Hooray!

Let’s take a look at some earphones you’ll definitely enjoy when paired with your iPhone:

Klipsch Image S4 In – Ear Headphones

If you haven’t heard of Klipsch, don’t turn away just yet. They’re a company that provides speakers for Alienware, one of the leading brands when it comes to gaming laptops. You know laptop speakers sound bad, but with Alienware laptops, you don’t have to plug into an external speaker. They’re that good!

In line with that, they also have earphones that sound really nice for your iPhone, or any music player for that matter.

As indicated from the title, they’re in – ear headphones, meaning they are noise cancelling. They’re good at what they do, and they sound really nice. The buds are small and don’t irritate your ears after using them for a long time.

Of course, they sound great. Treble is really good. Songs sound really bright and crisp without hurting the ears. They sound great with different genres, which is sure to please many music lovers that have differing tastes.

Monster Turbine In – Ear Speakers

You may know Monster because of one famous brand – Beats by Dr. Dre. They’re a popular line of earphones with iconic red color.

Like Klipsch, Monster is already a veteran in the audio industry. One of their most famous products is their instrument cables. They’re used by countless famous musicians in the industry. From guitar cables to amplifier cables, they’re famous for their thickness, hence the name.

Trying their hand in the headphone market, their first product is surprisingly good. The Turbine sounds really nice because they’re adjustable. It comes with five sets of ear tips with differing sizes, making sure your ears aren’t irritated.

Aside from that, the earphones feature an all – metal construction guaranteed to last for a long time. It also comes with a carrying case so it doesn’t get tangled in your pockets.

In terms of sound quality, you’ll be very happy to know that they deliver the goods. It has a more open sound to everything it plays. That open quality leads to songs that breathe nicely. Equalization is equal and every instrument is clearly heard.

Conclusion

If you’re selling your iPhone because you think the sound quality is bad, you’re wrong. It’s just the earphones. Try out the two earphones listed here and you’ll have a blast!

Although technology has advanced at breakneck speed, infrastructure has fallen behind in many places across the globe. Hard drives that held less than 100 gigabytes were far beyond what the average consumer needed a decade ago but now one terabyte is too restrictive for many, and most of the data which fills that space is attained through the Internet. In order for the economy to flourish in countries like the US and Britain, vast improvements will need to be made to accommodate both the increase in computational power and the businesses that would make use of it.

The BT Group, a telecommunications company headquartered in London, intends to facilitate the transition through their new fiber-optic network in Britain. Slated to reach two-thirds of the country’s population by 2015, it boasts connection speeds of 80Mbps compared to the 7.6Mpbs average of today. The total cost of the project is estimated at 2.5 billion pounds or roughly 4 billion US dollars.

Unfortunately, being the first out the gate means that they get to set the prices for everyone else. Their competitors have to pay them nearly twice as much to use the new infrastructure than they did with the old network, essentially turning BT into a monopoly and giving them control over the market.

BT has countered by saying that at the current prices it will take 12 to 14 years to recoup their investment. While it’s a reasonable statement at first glance, it could spell trouble for a country that’s already lagging behind. Other European countries have offered speeds equaling or exceeding 80Mbps for years, and if it will take that long for it to pay for itself Britain may be playing catch-up for at least a quarter century. Business practices that stifle competition through long-term investment in infrastructure that’s already outdated isn’t a recipe for Britain’s economic health.

The question is what should be done about it? If they’re unable to profit, it stifles the motivation to make such investments in the first place. On the other hand, monopolies ultimately overcharge their customers and delay innovation through the elimination of their competition. Because their network will only cover about 66% of the country when it’s complete, there’s arguably room for someone else to step in and fill the gaps. That doesn’t change the fact that they’ll basically own the areas they cover, and it might be prohibitively expensive for those who’d like to offer their services in those locations.

TalkTalk, one of BT’s biggest rivals, is urging Ofcom, an independent regulator and competition authority within the UK, to step in and force tariffs from 2015 onward that would make the network cheaper to access. While this would level the playing field, it could drastically increase the amount of time required to earn back the money that was put into it and delay the adoption of newer technologies.

While there is no easy answer, competition is necessary for a healthy economy in a system with any capitalistic elements, so tariffs will probably be implemented within the next few years. Beyond that, new subsidies or tax breaks that reward opening access to private infrastructure would go a long way toward creating a win-win situation for everyone involved.

The new economy is digitized and interconnected; it’s both local and global. Most new opportunities will either originate in the online world, or they will require cheap access to technology to reach their full potential. For that reason, it is imperative that BT is rewarded and that other companies aren’t punished for using their network. That’s the only way the promises of the digital age can be realized.

Information technology is the place to be when you’re looking for a growing job market, especially in the field of network administration. Pretty much every company has some sort of computerized system that requires a network, along with the countless companies that need their own servers and data centers. Whether you’re working with a small business that just needs a basic network or you’re handling massive networks for an international company, opportunities abound in this field. The exact salary of a network administrator depends on the company size, whether you’re expected to perform advanced server administration tasks and a number of other factors. This job field continues to grow as network needs increase in every sector.

Network administrators are needed by companies in many different fields, from cloud computing providers like Rackspace hosting to mid-size accounting firms. While a great deal of your time is consumed with standard monitoring and maintenance, there are many tasks that keep administrators intellectually challenged. You have a few different education paths to pursue for network admin jobs. If you want to get a formal education, both two and four year programs are often sought after for job postings. Many different network certifications are also available. These certifications are considered invaluable and often required for certain job postings, as they demonstrate actual ability in a specific technology. The CISCO network certifications often get you a foot in the door, while Microsoft and CompTIA certifications are also powerful tools to put on your resume.

Determine exactly what type of network administrator position you’re looking for. Some network admin positions tend to do a lot of monitoring and general help desk duties, as opposed to network-specific functions. Other network admin jobs require that employees know scripting and advanced network technology to keep everything running smoothly. Since so many businesses have IT departments with network admins, determine what type of industrial sector you want to work in. If you have an interest in the company beyond just making sure their servers and network work well, you’ll have a much more enjoyable time. Plus, there may come a time when you want to switch positions or careers, and making a lateral move within the company you work for already is usually easier than finding another position at a different one.

Network administrator job postings can be found at most job sites, but the best bet is to find a technology specific job listing page. Search for a specific job title, if you have one in mind, and find out exactly what employers are trying to find. Be prepared for hands-on demonstrations or answering technical questions during the course of the interview. If you can’t show that you know what you’re talking about, no one is going to take the chance and hire you.

Though network administration is an intellectually demanding field and requires an immense amount of knowledge and work to become a respected, admired member of the network admin community, in the end it will pay off. For those who love technology and solving complex, intricate problems, network administration is a clear path to an intriguing lucrative career goal.

Cellphones have come a long way since in the last thirty years. From the massive “car phone”, the cell phone’s predecessor, to the bulky, awkward 1980’s cell phones, the devices continued to get smaller, but little else changed. You probably remember when your cell phone was good for little else besides making a phone call.

In the last ten years, however, things have changed drastically. Cell phones started to incorporate more features than ever before. Soon we had picture phones, text messaging and many other functions we never dreamed we’d have on the go. Then, smartphones set the bar even higher. Now, We’re just about to enter the next phase in the cell phone’s evolution with 4G networks.

What Is 4G?

Many throw around the phrases 3G and 4G networks, but the actual definition is sometimes cloudy or varies greatly depending on whom you ask. 3G brought our cell phones the ability to transfer data at higher speeds. This is what most people use for iPhones, Androids and other smartphone systems that support video, Internet browsing and email.

However, most of these systems are still slightly limited when compared to a laptop or personal computer. Many of these systems have comparable browsing but are still slower than using a PC Internet connection or Wi-Fi. 4G will move all the communication for both data and voice into an Internet protocol-based solution. This means that a single network will be handling voice phone calls, Internet browsing and anything else we do with a phone.

How It Helps Small Businesses

Small businesses stand to enjoy increased freedom with a 4G network. Speeds of data transfers and quality of calls will reach new levels of reliability. There are also some amazing ways that using Voice over Internet Protocol for phone calls can simplify many daily business tasks.

What Is VoIP?

Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, systems place calls using the same data connection and communication standard that is used for data transfers and Web browsing. This is not new technology. Various VoIP systems already exist on PCs and laptops. Even enterprise-level organizations have massive VoIP systems setup to handle internal communication.

With 4G, VoIP technology will be financially feasible even for the small business owner. You’ll be able to take advantage of functionality normally reserved for expensive corporate systems like video conferencing, sharing data or displaying a document wile conferencing and other incredibly useful business applications.

The Future of Cell Phones

With 4G systems firmly in place, the functionality we utilize on PCs and laptops will work exactly the same from our smartphone. The world of online communication will not be fractured and divided up based on what device you elect to use. These are some of the great things that are just around the corner with 4G technology.

Move over, smartphones, there’s a new digital hottie in geek town! Augmented reality glasses, in both prescription and non-prescription versions, are just about finished being cooked up in Google’s lab. Code named “Project Glass,” Google launched a video about the sleek, techo-smart eyewear a few weeks ago. The prototype wasn’t designed for wearers of prescription glasses, but Senior Industrial Designer, Isabelle Olsson, fixed that in a New York minute.

Olsson said the goal was to make the voice-commanded eyewear adaptable for everybody as well as suitable for many different frame styles. She must have had lots of guinea pigs as Olsson also commented that many members of her design team wear prescription glasses. This digitally performing eyewear can allow you to schedule meetings, snap photos, get directions and participate in video chats all hands-free! I’m still having fun imagining all the possibilities here …

Read as you go?

So … in essence, I can walk anywhere with these spectacular spectacles on and directions would be printed right in front of my eyes. I like this and I admit it — I’m a little directionally challenged. To me there’s left and “the other left” as people keep telling me. The Google glasses’ ability to show text right in your face, literally, is all made possible with the small LCD screen on one of the lenses.

Ah, yes I see (pun intended). Instead of using my little fingertips as in texting, I would whisper sweet little nothings and my smart Google eyeglasses will listen to my commands. “Take down this message, glasses.” “Bring up my video chat now.” “Tell me how to get to Sesame Street — well, Fifth Avenue, actually.”

Hmmm … I love the idea of being a walking camera too. That could be fun all right. “Yes honey, I am viewing this house for sale without you, but can you see what I see as I’m walking through it with our real estate agent?” I love Google! Those people are always cooking up some new technical wonderment in their lab.

But what about the talking part?

These are voice command glasses. Are we then going to see multitudes of pedestrians constantly muttering to themselves? For me, this is probably going to work because I love the cover it will give me when I start talking to myself accidentally in the grocery store again. I’m also a multi-tasker, so yeah “Project Glass” seems cool. Just nobody try anything stupid like driving in these digital glasses, okay? That’s all we need! It’s just going to be a no no like texting while you drive.

But what about the style part?

Get those visions of dorky, nerdy science goggles out of your head. Google’s brand spankin’ new “Project Glass” eyewear is more like really cool, hip eyewear that just happens to have a little screen in the corner of one lens. The overall design is quite sleek, ultra-modern, and, again, as Olsson mentioned, there will be many possible frame options for all kinds of people, and their preferences and face shapes.

Well, I’m adding the stuff about face shapes since I have a head like a basketball and yes, okay, I love a good modified rimless aviator any day. To each his, or her, own though, so that’s great about having a lot of frame options.

Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, has already worn the “Project Glass” eyewear to a charity event though. Good call! I’d want to try these great geeky glasses out in the real world too!

The Google Glass project Promises to be a Revolution in Not only the Tech Industry but Also in the eyeglass Industry as well, What do you think? Would You Wear Them? To Learn more Visit Blog.ZenniOptical.com

For many, the phrase “tablet PC” is synonymous with “iPad”. Ever since the launch of the first iPad in 2010, Apple have dominated this market. Slowly, however, their competitors are waking up and tapping into this lucrative market, releasing alternative tablet PCs which offer lower prices and better technical specifications than the iPad.

5 Of The Best Tablet PCs:

Asus’ EeePad Transformer is the Taiwanese company’s first tablet PC offering. Though the naming is a rather blatant rip off, how well does the actual device fare against the iPad? Running on Android, the tablet comes with its own docking station for charging and a keyboard as standard. Apple currently charge upwards of £50 for a wireless keyboard which can be used with the iPad, so this certainly seems to be a bonus of the EeePad Transformer. This tablet PC also comes with USB ports and micro-SD card reading abilities – other features that come at an extra cost for iPad owners. All in all, this shapes up as a good little tablet PC. Perhaps the only thing keeping it from stealing the iPad’s crown is that it currently is only available in brown.

The EeePad Transformer Prime, again by Asus, is another attempt at cracking Apple’s tablet PC stronghold. This tablet PC is the first to use a quad-core processor. This permits for many different tasks to be performed on the tablet at the same time, without impairing the performance of any of these tasks. When the optional keyboard is attached, the tablet PC is more akin to a touch-screen netbook, appealing to those who find the iPad and other tablet PCs to be too impractical to use in a work/study environment. This tablet is not just for work, however. The 8MP camera is technically impressive and the 18 hour battery life far exceeds that of most other tablet PCs, allowing for battery-draining apps from Google Play to be run for many hours. This tablet PC seems to take all of the positives from its predecessor – the dual-core EeePad Transformer, and enhance upon these. Thankfully, this tablet PC is also available in colours other than brown.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the Korean company’s latest product released to the tablet PC market. Like the iPad, the Galaxy Tab is available in both black and white, though the Galaxy Tab can be bought for significantly less money than the iPad. Samsung’s offering is both thinner and lighter than the latest iPad, though the HD 10.1” PLS display may not compete quite as well against Apple’s Retina Display. Cameras are included, as standard, achieving a respectable 3MP, compared to Apple’s 5MP – though 3MP is surely sufficient for the purposes of the tablet. This tablet PC has been described as “PC independent” – a bonus over Apple’s iTunes-reliant device so is a viable contender to take the tablet PC crown.

Famed for their mobile phones, the Motorola Xoom 2 is the second tablet PC produced by the American company. This Android tablet PC boasts a bigger screen (10.1’’) than the iPad, as well as a significantly lower price. Like Apple’s iCloud, the MotoCast app from Motorola allows for files and media from other devices to be directly accessed on the tablet PC, allowing for users to be able to access videos and films instantly. The Motorola Xoom 2 is a tablet PC designed towards media playback – it features a HD widescreen as well as 3D surround sound. This, along with the bigger screen size than the iPad, permits for a better viewing experience than can be achieved on other tablet PCs.

The Acer Iconia W500 is yet another recently launched tablet PC. By using Windows 7 as its operating system and coming with 2 USB ports, this device is able to connect to just about every other device imaginable. The downside to running such a demanding operating system, however, is the battery life. Whilst 4-5 hours is absolutely fine for most users, this does not compare too favourably with other tablet PCs on the market. Like the EeePad Transformer Prime, this tablet has the ability to be converted into a netbook through attachment of a keyboard. This, however, comes at an £80 premium – more expensive than the wireless keyboard sold as a supplement to the iPad.

So, Can Apple Be Stopped?

Described are just a handful of the tablet PCs which are flooding the market in an attempt to shake-up Apple’s monopoly. Expect to see a huge surge in cheap laptops deals as companies, including Sony and Blackberry, are keen to tap into the tablet PC craze. Recently, Amazon has also announced its intentions to create a device, having launched the highly successful Kindle. Though there are cheaper and more technically-impressive alternatives to the iPad, it remains to be seen who can successfully interfere with Apple’s domination of the tablet PC market.

Beginning as a revolution, internet has become the important part of today’s world. Internet has connected the people from all over the world. Today, we can’t imagine the world without internet. Everything and everyone is getting online and the one who is missing it is really missing the immense power of the modern world. E-learning is used to refer computer based learning’s by the means of online conferencing; computer based training, computer-aided assessment, discussion boards. The aim of the eLearning is to supply the workforce with a cost-effective and up-to-date program that yields loyal, motivated, skilled knowledge workers.

But, like every coin has two sides, eLearning also has its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of eLearning

Internet offers the logical solution for a company’s training and education objectives as most of the company’s already uses computers for their work. The growth of the high speed desktops, corporate networks and World Wide Web will make learning’s available to the learners 24 hours a day around the globe. This will enable business to distribute training to any location easily which will enable the employees to access the training at any time and location.

Training is less expensive when it is delivered through the technology due to the elimination of paying high salaries to the trainers. The biggest advantage of eLearning is it eliminates the expenses of bringing the instructor and trainee at the same place. This will help the workers to increase their productivity as they don’t have to travel or fight rush-hour to get to a class.

Web based technology helps the trainers to update lessons across the network instantly which keeps the contents consistent and fresh. Learners can access the information as it is required rather than once learning in the class room and later forgotten. It has been proved that web based technology are more consistent than the traditional learning.

Disadvantages of eLearning

The biggest disadvantage of eLearning would be the fact that having a real instructor that you can ask questions like in a classroom may not be available. The technology offers assistance to the student who needs it, but it may not satisfy the needs of the student which may be a little frustrating.

Other disadvantage of online training is that you have to sit hours together in front of the computer which may be a little frustrating if you are not computer savvy. Even though it helps you a lot and the price would be right, you may face difficulty without some internet and computer skills to move around an online course.

eLearning surely has its up’s and down’s, but in spite of this, it is the best solution to get any education online. If you are tightly scheduled and have a tighter budget, don’t let the disadvantage discourage you because the disadvantages can be overcome.
